On my most recent trip out of LAX I had to surrender the CO2 cylinders from our three life jackets.
Flown with them half a dozen times before, into this airport and others. Airline websites say they are ok to carry and to declare them on check in.
I was told that it was an airport policy but can find no reference to it anywhere.
The aircraft had about 400 of them on board, one under every seat so I doubt it is a fear of the CO2. Perhaps they worry I had made three small bombs?
I have emailed both the airport and the airline for clarification but no reply four weeks later.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I suspect it was an over zealous LAX employee.
Cheers,
Simon
