I want to change the hull stripe color on my Beneteau. The waterline has a factory Gelcoat stripe that I want to change to blue. Some graphics companies are pensive about trying to cover this stripe with vinyl. It will be more expensive for me to have the stripe painted. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Painting over the old boot stripe isn't that hard as a DIY project. Use the green tape with the fine edge.... a 2 or 3 inch brush, depending on the width of strip... and a quart of topside paint. Do it right when the boat comes out of the water and the paint should be dry when you're done prepping the bottom for paint.

In any event, schedule the change at your next haulout, ask for the boot stripe job to be included in your yard's bottom paint estimate.

Thanks for your info. I think I'll have them paint the stripe on the next haul out.

That's the way to go.... should not cost too much extra if you bundle it in with the bottom job.
