After a hard day of work laying on your back and other anatomical body parts, sanding the love of your life...

You walk into the house leaving a trail of blue/red dust on the floor looking for a cold beer only to be greeted with "What the hell are you doing, get your ass outside and strip"....

Don't you guys know the joys of wet sanding? No dust! Use a drywall sanding pad, a 5 foot pole, 80 grit mesh abrasives, a 5 gallon bucket for water and cover 95% of the bottom standing on both feet.

When I was in the Army my wife would make me strip at the front door after I returned from an extended exercise. I used to think it was a new form of fore play .....Now I know it was so the milk man could make his escape out the back door.....

Don't take it personally.......................
The admiral just wanted to show her fine man-specimen to the neighbors. It was a compliment.
Now going back to the window screens you ordered for that submarine of yours................................

Hrm.....when I lived in the country I once had to strip a uniform off outside and ended up burning it because I couldn't get the stink off of it from a DOA scene. It was really a bad one because the guy had been down in a hot garage for two weeks and he was melting into the car he died in.

Knowing Jim, it is a wonder that he didn't strip outside and streak around the house. LOL

Your wife will be a whole lot less pissy once she has sandpaper in her hands and sees how the other half lives. Have her get with the program!

Thanks Jim, but I don't need any help from you! I can piss her off much easier than that.

Geee, I wish my marina let me wet sand. Seems they have this tree hugger green thing going down and you have to catch all your sanding detritus and wet sanding is "right out". I prefer to get a really thick coat of bottom paint (3-4 coats @ 2-3 years between applications) then use the boys to scrap it off while I supervise. I'm thinking that my work force is going to graduate HS before our next iteration :-(

Or use a dustless drywall sanding pole. I have the Richards Vacuum sanding pole that uses the screen mesh for sanding. Attach to shop-vac with a drywall bag in the shop vac and fine filter. Use it all the time sanding drywall and worked great sanding the bottom of the boat...... virtually no dust.

Wet sanding is most portable, least apparatus and quiet.

It may sound like crazy idea but it would be cool to invent an electric wet sander. If there was a safe way to do that it would be very useful for sanding ablative paint.
