Came in the mail today and after buying the Pearson 323 I was thinking I need a whisker pole. Page 41 How to build a good looking Whisker Pole from parts available at Lowes or Home Depot.

Very cool. That would be a good mag for me to get. I would love to see those instructions because I would really like to get a whisker pole on my boat!

I rigged one up using my adjustable boat hook once, it worked pretty well but I'd rather have something quicker to deploy (had to lash the pole to the mast).

I made one with a large piece of bamboo and a couple of solid wood ends. I lasted for a season. It might have lasted longer if I had taken better care of it.

Absolutely. Both are great magazines. I'm also partial to Practical Boat Owner (UK).
