or "Looking for Nick". What an amazing day. Got up early and did 40 miles on the bike in Venice with two Ohio club mates. Then off to Punta Gorda to meet Bill D and Frank M for lunch. Frank's friend Fred joined us so here are four Hunter owners sitting at the water's edge of the Peace River.

Then off to Bill and Mary Dixon's house. I'll brag for them with the picture of their H37C from behind the pool and through the screen. What a neat spot, only about one-half mile of canal into open water. The boat should be identical to mine, both '79s. But they have done serious upgrading like converting it to a sloop. And those huge Lewmar 54'S!

We couldn't find Nick, even with two radilo calls. Pretty sure he was ducking us. We were out over two hours and the wind was perfect. Bill said he saw 7.7 on the downwind leg. World's shortest video( http://youtu.be/oqHobLCL81s ). All in all just a great afternoon on the water with two very nice people. Thanks again and good luck on the cruise. (threw in the picture of the pretty Morris that was just sailing out the channel).

Wow. Thanks for the nice words. It was a pleasure to meet you in person and to show off a little bit of the Peace River and Charlotte Harbor. Enjoy your sail with
Blaise if you decide to go with him on the race to Mexico.

Best of luck to you now and in the future

Sorry

We were out sailing and not ducking you but had a boat load of not sailboaters so things were crazy with so much talking going on and so many questionns from these powerboaters and none boaters about my boat and also Charlotte harbor and I had to lower the VHF and sterio also and than the food came out for lunch.
All and all they had a great time but sorry to say we missed you guys,I am 2 canals away from Bill and Mary and just moved my boat there from Burnt Store las tweek and I go out the same main channel and we came back and in around 4 so I can't understand how we did not see you guys out sailing in the harbor.
I saw Bill and Mary last night and that's when he told me about trying to raise me on the VHF,I did hear some chatter on the VHF but kept lowering it so I could hear all the questions from our guest, they were having so much fun as I was letting them work the winches for the jib when we were tacking and they now want to crew in a race or more sailing but they work have to return to Mass in a few days.

Thanks for that picture Mary. Already saved in my "Florida.Mar2012" folder. I was not asleep, only in deep reflection. I could have sat there for many more hours it was so perfect. I wish I had know that I was taking a video when I thought I was taking a picture. With the bright sun I could not see what I was doing. I would like to have had several more seconds 'cause we were smokin' and I loved the audio. Also thanks for so many good upgrade ideas. The boat is really good to go. Fair winds!

Know nothing about that M29 JC. We had just entered the canal when he was coming out motor sailing. Maybe Bill knows him.

Nope. Don't know him. Passed close by in the canal, and he was not a familar face. We do have a few expensive boats, but this is not Ft.lauderdale.
