Well after being at Burnt Store Marina for 4 years with no complaints I am trying out a dock in PGI at a friends house,20 minute drive from my house to the dock and a big savings in $$$$$.
So he had the dredging company come over and dig a little bit next to the dock so during low tide I won't be grounded but the canals are all very deep and easy short trip out into Charlotte harbor.
I will be sailing over to our new dock in the next day or so and can't wait for a nice short trip to go sailing, the marina with construction on Burnt Store rd was about 40 or so minutes.

Best Wishes for enjoying your "new digs".

Do you know that a benefit regatta will be happening in Charlotte Harbor on Saturday and Sunday? I will be crewing on one of the boats. My wife and I found ourselves in the midst of a race two times last year, once while returning from Fisherman's Village and once near Bokeelia during a day sail. Neither of those experiences were fun for us, and I'm sure we complicated the race tactics for the racing boats!

One recommendation. Establish beforehand with your friend the rules for access and use of the dock. Very important, make sure that your friend's wife was consulted and was in complete agreement.

Happened to talk w/ the friend's wife at a lunch this week. She's happy about the arrangement.
