I plan on doing that after I put her in the slip this weekend. I am a bit superstitious.
congrats on the new boat and a fine one at that.....my first choice when looking was Pearson then Catalina but couldn't fine one with a shoal keel and I almost bought a Pearson 36-2 a few years back but the owner wouldn't budge on his price and he was asking way more than I thought it was worth
recess, you dog, i have been drooling over three pearsons, a 28 (full head and all) a 32, and most of all those two 36's(one a ketch, one a cutter) down on indian creek fla. d@mn boy. i am jealous. very jealous. i need details.:cussing:
He really liked Recess. I traded him Recess and some cash. He has already sold Recess to a friend of his who has taken the boat to be upholstered. So it seems like the boat found a home. I am loving this new Pearson. I have some cell phone pics of the interior in the condition we bought it.
That is the admiral checking the vberth. The whole boat is bone dry.
A brand new Main and a 150 furling genoa with the edge material already sewn on. There is a 110 genoa on already.
I will post a few outside pics later. I have not uploaded them yet.
I am very happy with how she sails and motors. I have to get used to the prop walk in revers though. It is a very strong and nice boat.
I am going to try Mainsail's method of polishing to see if I can restore the gel coat. If I do not succeed, I may have to fall back on rolling and tipping again.
The are comfortable, but what I really like about them is they are very thoughtfully put together. You look at where things are put and you understand they are designed and built by people that have a lot of experience kicking around in boats. She needs a little love on the outside, nothing to be fixed, just a good cleaning.
