Where does the cockpit drains go? Irwin C-34

I know the obvious answer to the question but, since the boat is 1 hr+ away, on an Irwin Citation 34, where do the cockpit drains exit the hull? I don't see an obvious exit on the outside of the hull. They are clogged and water is entering engine hatch. New to me boat.

Using a water hose - force water into the drain and see where it comes out of. This will also clean the drain without making holes in the drain hose.

Try an electrical snake and gently send it down. Is there is a chance that they drain out a thru hull that is under water? How about using a length of hose and attach it to your bilge pump. This would give you some pressure. Is it on the hard? If it is, I'd probably add a little antifreeze to some water and pour it in. Maybe there's ice? I don't know. Just fishing for ideas.

a 12 VDC portable (small) shop vacuum could evacuate the debris or blow air pressure to help a locate leak or outlet. other uses when afloat also such as air toys and spills

Try the old standby ,a good old plumber plunger. They run on potato power and are completely portable.

If it is on the hard, it should be fairly easy to find. Are your temps freezing up there? As previously mentioned it could be ice. If you can trace the drain from the inside, check for any low points that may be acting as a trap. It may now be plugged with ice or debris.

Strange warm weather is thawing things out. I know I can trace but, with the boat 1 hr away, I was hoping that another Irwin C-34 owner may chime in.

Hey Vic,

Welcome to the I-34 world. The drain is a simple fix with options listed above. Best option is to run pressurized water through it. It is a thru hull but I can't remember exactly where. Mine has stopped up a couple times over the years and fixed easily with water from a hose. Sorry you don't have that now. Perhaps a portable tank/compressor with an air hose? I can let you know exactly the location this weekend as I can't get to my boat till then. PM me it you need.

The cockpitt drains on an irwin, come out under the hull. They usually work very well, i had the whole cockpitt of an irwin full of water, and it drained mega fast. As i remeber, the drains were about the middle of the cockpitt, and the opening in the hull, was derectly bellow where the cockpitt drains were.

Al, I expected them to be under drains in outer hull, but no. Maybe tied into sink drain?

The drains are on the hull, under the cockpit, (as far as i can remember, thats where they were on my boat) i know a lot of drains, exit the transom, but the irwin wasnt like that, which is probably why it could drain so fast, it was straight down, no bends, no long pipes, just straight down, and out of the hull, right bellow the cockpit.
