Larry, it'd be REALLY helpful if you could provide more details. Like hull color, name, you know the drill: the stuff the CG would ask you.

I was walking the dock a few weeks ago and stumbled across a large boat named Rosewood. It really stood out. We never see boats from NY down here. Chances are its not the boat you are looking for. Good luck

Larry, while you wait for Stinkpot (great name btw!) I would start calling marinas in Galveston. A 54' sailboat is hard to forget. I assume it was stolen by your tone. If so I would also call the authorities you reported it missing to and ask them to contact authorities in TX.

I don think I could be patient waiting which is why I'd get on the phone. Keep a list of where it's not as well to reduce further legwork.

If the folks now in possession get wind of your interest they may cast off for other ports. I would be very stealthy in my quest for finding this. As I told someone not long ago, in twelve hours I can be 60 miles away and in 24 hours I can be in international water.

Larry you should call the Tx state police to find out who has jurisdiction in the Galveston area and report the sighting. Also call your insurance company.

Lets see. I have 54 foot sailboat stolen from me and I don't report it missing to the police, insurance company. Instead I post a note on a sailing forum? With no picture, or details, and hope some dude stumbles across it.

I also have a uncle in Liberia with $9000000 in the bank and needs help getting it back.

Maybe his ex ran off with the boat and 2nd mate? Or he left a stash of (???) in a hidden locker when he sold it?
