Hey Joe,

The web site above only gives you the outside camera. Go to

http://www.lulubuffett.com/

and choose cams and get inside camera.

Then go to

http://www.lulubuffett.com/about.php

and find out who lulu is!

I have posted this web site several times over the years. Easy to find under Lulu's.

Bye the way, the water is not a river but see and learn about the ditch:

http://www.lulubuffett.com/directions.php

In fact you could tow your boat here and let wife enjoy the Gulf Coast. Instead of Turkey, have big gulf shimp.

Hi Ed,
I just found out why the cameras weren't working for me. I forgot to download Java. It's working now. Thank you for the link. It's a different link than what I had before and I'm anxious to see more cams on this site.
Ahoy!

We have an oyster roast this weekend at our yacht club. A group of us will be sleeping on our sailboats, wives included. Takes the need for a designated driver out of the equation......as long as we put the sailboats in the water before we imbibe.

I feel for you northern sailors.
I spent the week on the boat. Lynn came down. The water is places from sundown to sunup. Then breezy. Got to try out my new main and the 155 yesterday. Still warm enuff for light cloths. But not quiet warm enuff to use my sun shower

This is one of the many reasons we often say, "American by birth. Southern by the grace of God"!

That's why I packed it in early this year Keith. I like to do overnighters on my boat and I have to take a shower before hitting the bunk. If it's too cold out to take a shower, then I don't want to be out there.

Beautiful pics Keith. A guy that moved down from Colorado asked what our sailing season was...... I said everyday of the year if you enjoy brisk winter days. Brisk being in the 50s and once in awhile in the 40s.

50s is great for kayaking up here Dave. I went kayaking on Thursday across the river in an area not too far from the industrial park where the O'Day factory used to be located in North Fall River Ma. After we hid the kayak in the bushes we did some beach combing and I found 61 golf balls and a fishing lure. When we got back I built a campfire on the shore and roasted a couple of hot dogs and heated up some chicken soup. I use a fire steel to get my fires started which is good practice and I always take along my bug-out bag. This time I brought my camera and I took a few timed exposures of us near the campfire. When I got home I uploaded the pics into my PC but never checked to make sure that I had them in "My Pictures" before I deleted them from the SD. I'll just have to do it over again the next time I go kayaking. Anyway, Penny and I had a great time out there.

I took some more pics today while we were beach combing on the river. I also found the other pics that I thought were lost last week. I only found about 3 golf balls this time but I also found a nice fishing plug in excellent condition.
I accidentally cut my finger out there while I was splitting wood for kindling. It's a good thing I had some bandages in my bug out bag to stop the bleeding.
My wife said, "What did you go and do that for?" I said, " I always wanted to find out what it would be like to chop my finger off." "Geesh!"

Nice pics Joe. Looks like a great way to spend an afternoon. You look like you have dropped a few pounds. Must be nice, I have been stuck at 205 for a few years now. These pounds are diet and exercise resistant!

Actually Dave, I lost about 40 lbs. My wife also lost that much weight too. I'm down to about 197 Lbs and I feel great. I've been eating less meat and more vegetables. I have soup and one sandwich on wheat bread every day for lunch. Outside of a small Hiatal Hernia, Gerd, and Barrett's Esophagus, I'm doing OK.
I had a lot of fun that day until I cut my left hand index finger with my Fiskars hatchet,-- like a dumbbell. I was trying to split wood and my hand got in the way of the sharp hatchet. It's a good thing I had some bandages with me in my bug out bag. It was a deep cut and I bled like a stuck pig.
I always carry a couple of bandages in my wallet. I got that idea from reading "Backwoodman Magazine."
Kayaking is a blast. A nine footer only weighs about 38 lbs and can fit in the back of a pickup truck kitty cornered under the cap. You can stop at any stream and put it in without even getting your feet wet. All my gear fits nicely behind the seat back in the cockpit. They're comfortable to sit in and easy to paddle. If you encounter any wind driven large waves, you just head right into them and you'll be OK. The boat will ride right over them. The wind has little effect on a kayak except that it can blow the water off the paddle causing it to hit you in the face with the spray.
It's not sailing, but it's the next best thing that you can do out on the water.

Keith,

The reason Joe has not replied is that finger has fallen off!!!

And he cannot type. He went to doctor and had to wait in line and was told that appointment would be in 3 months under Mass. health care.

Barney Frank's office said they could get appoint in 6 weeks.

Contact Joe back channel to send regrets. His wife will help him log on...

So tell us if you are moving your boat to the Gulf next season.

Maybe move to Lake George on the Georgia side of the line [http://walterfgeorge.sam.usace.army.mil/]?

You know that it has a lock that connects to the Applach River which flows to the Gulf. [http://www.brownsguides.com/blog/boating-in-georgia-locking-through/]

Gee, why trailer to the Gulf when you can boat thru?
[http://www.sam.usace.army.mil/op/rec/wfg/acf boating.htm]

What was the Horace Greely quote? Go west? Maybe it should be go south?

I can type Ed. I just can't play my guitar. I take that back. I'm able to use my last three fingers of my left hand to finger some frets that I normally do with all my fingers, and I'm confined to practicing finger gymnastics on the fret board.
As for my doctor, he wasn't too happy with me when I showed up at his office on Tuesday without an appointment to have him look at my finger.
I look at it as pure economics. If I'd have gone to the outpatient at Morton Hospital the co-pay would have been $100. This way, I'd only have to give him a $25 co-pay.
Last Friday I had an Upper Endoscopy at Morton and the co-pay was $250.00. Maybe I'd be better off if I was an illegal alien. :D

That's alright, bush jr. In a moment of giddy euphoria, said all Americans have health care. Just go to the emergency room. ..... But only if you want an 1100$ bill!

If you go to the airport and mention Al Quida, you get a free colonoscopy. I believe that was part of the Bush health care plan.

Keith,

So are you going to sail down the Chattahoochee to the Gulf? Or whatever river leaves your lake?

As to ER bills, the issue I have is “self pays” such as indigent and illegals that ER’s are compelled to treat. Who picks up the tab? The taxpayers in the community, county or state pay the bill.

Like you I have been involved in such care. Many unnecessary or not related procedures are ordered by ER doctors on such patients because otherwise they cannot pay for medical care.

I used to be performing medical test on patients beyond what insurance covered patients would get because firstly the insurer deemed that procedure not related to condition presented. Some procedures cost upwards of $1000.00.

Does your lake connect to the Chattahoochee system? As you get to the Florida line, you pass some interesting swamps. Best to go in winter to avoid bugs.

There is a dam between me and the coosa river, but I could launch past that. However, better to haule her down hgwy27 to pcb. I'm looking forward to it. I plan on pulling her next week for the season, I want to put another couple of coats on the bottom, and roll on some kiwi non skid. I think I am going to try trex for my teak.

Some of you are aware this past July I sailed the ICW from Norfolk to Little River, South Carolina. I just found an interesting group of Youtubes. I did not take may pictures because I was at the helm 90 % of the time.

To 1977oday22 about ICW near Mytle Beach, SC

I am not aware of a marina called mytle beach marina. For example, the Mytle Beach Yacht Club is not in Mytle Beach but miles north in Little River, SC, where I keep a 28 foot cutter.

So, ask your friend what is correct name of marina. In Colquina Basin there are six marinas, 3 public. Here are some web sites:

http://www.myrtlebeachstreaming.com/mbht/coquina-harbour.wmv

http://lightkeepersmarina.com/

http://www.myrtlebeachyachtclub.com/home.html

http://www.coquinaharbour.com/

You enter the basin thru a channel near the light house. It is a bit tricky for sailboats in that it is a dog leg back off the ICW. Even TOW Boat US makes the dog leg.

The Casino boats are a few miles north. North Myrtle Beach a few miles south and Myrtle Beach itself is past the rocks referred to in the video.

There are public lauching ramps under the Hwy 9 & U. S. 17 highrise before the draw bridge. Several marinas are located just north of the draw bridge.

Come on down. http://www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/

But it is hard for a 22 foot sailboat to sail in this area because the channels are narrow. But, that is why so many sailboats are based in Little River. Just 5 miles to the Atlantic.

The ICW has a wide spot near Georgetown and of course there is Charleston Harbor which has several large areas for sailing.

Let the guys up north deal with icebergs or frozen water sailing.
