We are using a Lind automobile adapter on Ruth's computer. I think we paid about $60 for ours, not cheap, and they have gone up more, looking now on the internet. I did see some on e-bay for less. You have to go on Lind's site and see if they have a model that will work for your computer.

I don't think you are going to save that much amps to justify the cost and then you also have more money into that computer. How about a used computer that uses a lot less. The notebooks are really energy efficient.

Good luck,

Sum

I agree, I really need a computer that doesn't need so much power, but for now this is what I have. I wouldn't want to go to a smaller screen, but I know this one is a battery hog.
I need to play with it some more. It seems like if it's busy charging the battery, it would draw more than if it wasn't.
Maybe I'll try running it with the battery removed! It's battery is real old and worn out, it loses maybe 40% charge when turned off from one day to the next. It was originally marketed to gamers, and I don't do that stuff so it has more power than I really need. I bought it because the sound quality was the best I had ever heard in a laptop. (not real crazy about the red flaming cover though!)
On the boat I don't need all that.
