This fall my wife and I gave each other an early Christmas present - we had out H-260 professionally waxed after pullout. It looks great! We were charged by the technician at the marina - $18/foot.

I'm not asking if I've been taken or not - the boat does look good - I feel we pretty much got our moneys worth. What I AM asking is whether any of you have seen or used a product like Poliglow (see link below). A guy at work forwarded me the link - it looks almost too good to be true. The instructions from the web site:

"Applying Poli Glow

For best results, apply to dry surface using our 7" applicator. For smaller, hard to reach areas, use our smaller applicator, which is included. Do not allow applicator to dry. Keep applicator soft by rinsing with clean water occasionally. Apply in thin, even, slightly overlapping strokes. Do not go over coats until dry. To keep surface clean, avoid windy conditions and apply in temperatures between 55 to 95 degrees F. PoliGlow can be applied in direct sunlight on light colors only. For easier application, apply in overlapping 5' square sections allowing each coat to dry (Approx.60 seconds). The first several coats may appear streaky due to the absorption of PoliGlow into the surface. A minimum of 5-6 coats will make the surface shine like new. Avoid contact with rain for several hours. Allow surface to cure for 24 hours before coming in contact with water."

Just thinking about NEXT year.

Thanks,

What no pics?!?

There was a heated discussion about Poliglow on the CatalinaOwners forum, you might check there. I think Poliglow is like everything else, there are pluses and minus', there are lovers and there are haters.

If your happy, then it was worth it.

For what its worth, I think the price is about the same or a bit higher in this area, but i haven't gotten an email about pricing lately.

Looking forward to seeing what other folks think of this product. I need to shine my hull up, too.

Seach the archives for posts about Polyglow.

Basically it is acrylic floor polish. Some say it yellows, and it is very difficult to remove. If you have good gel coat, a buff out and wax is your best bet.

One vote for Wax

Steve - this is the kind of definitive reply I was hoping for. I'll search the archives ... but all other opinions are welcome.

I've used poliglow and while not awful it wouldn't be my first choice. Do a search for Maine Sail's post on tips for a great buff wax for a good result. Good luck! SC
