I am wondering what others have done to upgrade their electrical panels.

Any pics would be great!

I replaced my panel with a six switch one I picked up at West. I also redid most of the internal wiring, and added a bus bar. You can come over and look if you want. I am out of town till Sat, but will be around on Sunday.

Dagnabit Kermit.. why didn't you attach the photo of yours?!?! It sure gets my vote as the best looking/most functional electrical mod for the H23 I've seen yet! (here is a link to it)

Cheers,
Brad

My apologies for not just posting the picture when I replied. I knew I should have but really kinda wanted to see what Carboman has on his boat. It was pretty late and I was dawg tired and figured I could post it today.

Thanks for the compliment, Brad. I didn't do the mod. The panel was there when we bought the boat. I really do want to see what others have so maybe I can appreciate even more what we have.

However, if you think our panel is good-looking, you ought to see my First Mate! So, I'm posting a picture of her so you won't have to write back and say, "Dagnabit Kermit.. why didn't you attach the photo of yours?!?!"

That panel is awesome. I was just proud of myself for replacing my panel with a like for like.

I'd still like to see what other people have on their boats. Mine is very nice. You can see one power outlet. The second one is not easy to get to. But it's there if we feel like going to the trouble to access it.

Like I said i just replaced panel for panel. The p/o had really messed up the electrical, and i am pretty sure that it had sat under water. So all my work is behind the panel. I replaced most of the wiring, I added a bus bar, charger, alternator line from the o/b. I have been wanting to add an outlet (its sitting on my desk), but haven't gotten to it yet. The nice think about small boats, is you can keep it simple. Regardless, Kermit, nice panel.

I added another power plug outlet and added two 30 watt solar panels and a charge controller. Keeps the battery charged up between weekends.

Ok, this will make you really appreciate that panel :D

Here is the panel for my H23. It's sitting in the "box of stuff" the PO had taken off the boat to refinish. Notice that the screw on fuse caps are all missing and each fuse holder has a mud dauber nest instead of a fuse! Inside the boat, there is a twisted mess of old wires and electrical tape where the panel used to be.

Cheers,
Brad
