I ordered a 22 gallon holding tank last week and was informed after placing the order that it would take 4-6 weeks to deliver. (No Problem, not going in the water this year). So imagine the surprise I found when I got home yesterday.
Looks like head work this weekend. The tank is a Trionic I found on tank-depot.com. Looks like it will work just fine.

I also got the fitting relocation kit and pump out tube:

Should be fun.

You have the exact same boat as I do, same year also
Curious about your tank: where exactly will you install?
Pictures please?
I have the old floppy bladder, would like to upgrade...

It will go in the same place Sam installed his. I will need to cut a rectangle slightly larger than 12x30 in the starboard lazarette against the bulkhead and companion way walls, move the water pump, determine the base platform needed, and lower onto platform. It is only 22 inches high at the tall end of the tank, but it may still be higher than the floor of the lazarette. That is ok. I can make a plywood lid that will cover the tank and protect it. Looking at Sam's custom tank, it is fairly deep on the end I am install it in. It is low and closer to the center of gravity. I am taking the tank down today to rough in the opening. I will take some pictures and post later tomorrow.

While at the boat this weekend, and in sizing things up with the 12x30 pattern from the base of the tank box it was shipped in, it looks like it will be a better fit if I go along the bulk head instead of along the companion/engine wall. This will also allow access to the engine from the starboard side. The access panel to the engine compartment will be a little smaller, but still usable. Stay tuned. Not a lot will happen until after I haul my old boat in two weeks. It's still all about sailing, right?

I installed a similar shaped tank. I chose along the bulkhead as well. Major benefit? You can access the pumps (2) etc via the factory access panel, w/o removing, touching the holding tank. My two pumps are one for water pressure and one to pump out the tank- Blue Water Cruising!!!!!!
I also mounted my head water intake/ valve in the same area.

custom Cherubini?

hey CaptColt, what is a "custom Cherubini" Hunter 33? I noticed this on your avatar, but I've never heard of this. . . also I would love to see pics of your setup - holding tank, pumps, etc (I also have a Cherubini 33, 1981, and a new holding tank is high on the Admiral's list of upgrades)
