Sailing Schools in the Montreal Area

Hi, this is my first post.

I've always wanted to sail, but having grown up in the Canadian prairies, I've never had much chance to learn, or sail for that matter.

So, I was wondering if any one knew of any good schools, or clubs for that matter, that could teach me a thing or two. I'm in Montreal, so I was curious if there was anything close by.

Sailing schools in Montreal

There are many clubs and schools on Lake St-Louis and Lake of Two Mountains.
Since winter is coming soon and most boats will be out of the water on October 15th it would be time to take an introductory safety course with either the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron or one of the other schools offering a course leading to the Pleasure Craft Operator Card.
When Spring comes around you will be ready to take a sailing course and enjoy!

I teach at the International Sailing School in Colchester Vermont. It's about a 1.5 hours from Montreal. We get a lot of students from Montreal. It's a ASA school and sailing club, with a wide range of boat for club members to use. It's located on Malletts Bay on Lake Champlain. I would bet that almost half of the boats moored and docked in Malletts Bay are owned by people from Montreal. Like Caboreur said winter is coming and the school will be closing soon. There may be a few weeks left to get a class in this fall, but then you will need to wait till May. Check out the web site for more information about the school and club.

I have my card, so I'm set on that front, but could probably brush up on it for good measure.
