1986 S2. Wet sanding and buffing followed by collonite 3 years ago. Collonite twice a year since. When we bought it it was like a chalk board with black mold in it. Once cleaned up the finish stays remarkably smooth. We started cleaning it with Ajax cleanser with bleach! We still get black streaks from pollution that are very hard to get off. Black streak remover or a light buffing with finesse it cleans it up in the spring. Boat soap during the season.

Star-brite

I use polyglow on our topsides and tried Star-brite non-skid cleaner this year. It did a pretty good job. One of these days I will polish the deck (but not the non-skid!) but I am too busy to do it once a year, never mind twice! Looks great though! :D

Thanks, I just finally did from the genoa winches to the stern for this year. Did that part Sat morning. I only buff it quickly with finesse it after a good washing to get all the black streaking off. Then a nice coat of collonite paste. The initial wet sanding took a while so a light buffing once a year and some quality time with collonite keeps it nice.

Very nice. Does the Collinite leave it slippery? I have used Woody Wax on my top sides but not Collinite. I am always afraid of slick because I am a klutz and if there is one slick spot I will find it. SC

It could make the polished area slippery, but don't wax the non skid! I did nothing with that. Then you should be alright. Collintie paste is awesome. Wipe it on then wipe it off BEFORE it dries best shine I know of. Of course the surface has to be in decent shape.

Work even better if you apply it with a light misting of water and rub it off with microfiber. Still, DO NOT let it dry completely....:)

Collitie #885 paste is perhaps the easiest wax to apply & remove if done right and also the longest lasting. The magic is they have less silicone, less that 2%, and more carnuba.. Other "paste" waxes contain as much as 30% or more silicone..
