Looks like you had a fun trip. Did you ever try going to Cat Harbor by going around the East End yet? Since we moved over from Redondo Beach, we have the same issue with going around to Cat Harbor.

We are going to head for IthsmusCove the Thursday before Labor Day, staying until Tuesday. Hope to see you there.

Karl, we have done the east end a couple of times. Not much advantage and a bit of pounding westbound on the backside. Good for a change of pace though, and especially if you overnight at Long Point or Avalon to break it up; going around the east end is better for wind direction and seas earlier AM.

Going around the west end, it's easiest to motor up to Pt. Vincente in the AM and when 90 degrees off, hang a left and sail. One OBTW, and which I forgot this trip,is to head a ways off the west end, like maybe a mile and a half or so is a good waypoint, because you'll get headed as you approach the point.

Probably won't be over at Two Harbors Labor Day; have to leave for a trip Tuesday. Have fun!

Yea, not nearly as pretty, few places to anchor and big distances between much of anything. But, Med climate and year-round sailing.
