Hi all,
I'm replacing my steel diesel tanks (2 @ ~55 gal each) with aluminum ones.
Can anyone recommend reliable and reputable fabricators that do quality work? East coast would be preferred to keep shipping costs down (I'm just south of Annapolis.)
Thanks in advance,
Tom
Two facets to consider for shipping, thus the acronym "S/H". I point that out because you end up paying for both unless arranging a personal pickup of the bulky item.
When I had a custom tank built, I went with a recommendation from a local boat yard that did a lot of repairs and new construction. Our tank came framed with wood 2X3 lumber, but not totally encased. It arrived without a dent or a problem. In effect, my "shipping charge" covered both the material and labor to prepare it for shipping and the actual shipping movement.
So, if you are having your tank fabbed up and shipped, whether it travels 100 miles or a thousand, the cost may not be too different...

Maybe...
If you want a link to my diesel fuel tank project, email me privately. Tank was built by

and they were a pleasure to do business with, following my drawings to the Nth degree.
Best,
