I have a 1983 Hunter 30'. The engine filled with water that entered from the exhaust. The engine has been repaired and I have plugged the exhaust at the manifold but this is a problem to undo when I want to go out. I heard that Hunter knew of this problem and came up with a fix and that apparently what ever they created is no longer working/ broken. If this is the case can I get replacement part or does anyone have a solution that is sailor friendly?

There should be a working siphon break between the exhaust injection elbow and the engines HX or RW output. If you have one and it failed it can cause what you described. Also the wet exhaust should have a decent high loop in it before it reaches the transom.
