81 O'Day 23-2.......... Kiwi Magic Oakville, Ontario, Canada
Hi guy's, I have purchased a 81 O'Day 23 and have a question.
The pull out bunk was an option when new and not all boats had them, so, my boat does not have this and I would like to make it pullout.
Can somebody post a couple of closeup pics of what the pullout part looks like?
I guess it is a sheet of plywood with a strong flat front board, I know it needs the piece of wood on the bulkhead and would need to be cut at an angle on the other end. What about access to the storage underneath?

Also, there is a thruhull valve just behind the greywater tank in the back, it is not connected to anything, what would this have been used for? is it original?

Thanks
John

I have the pull out bunk on my 81 O'Day 23. I plan on going to the marina Thursday or Friday and I'll take some pictures for you.

Thanks Domalon, that will be very useful.
I have owned mine now for two months and I have stripped out the interior to put new hull liner in and clean it up.

I will have to make a mast raising rig before I launch her to see how this boat sails.

Cheers

Don,

thank you so much for the great pic's with dimensions.
That is exactly what I need.
I will start making it probably in 2 or 3 weeks.
Thanks again for all the trouble you went to, I appreciate it immensely.

I will be installing my new VHF and FM/CD radios shortly, where are yours located and would you comment on the best placement?

Thanks
John

John, I'm glad the pictures helped you.

This is my first boat and I've had it for about three years so I have a lot to learn. I bought a hand held radio.

I would like to see your mast raising rig when you're done.

Don
