Good chance its a Yacht Specialties pedestal, if original? I believe they were absorbed into the Edson group at some point. The pedestal designs are similar, but not identical.

Suggest that you post more info about to your inquiry?

My own H37C and other Cherubinis that I have sailed on actually have an Edson decal right on the pedestal. Not sure where I might find a model number though. I'll look in some documentation when I get the chance.

Edson knows all about 37c steering systems. They have part numbers for it all, including the pedestal. I suspect they would for 33's as well. check with them at edsonmarine.com

Hunter started with Edson, switched to Yacht Specalties because they underbid Edson. I think this happened in 1980 of 81. They switched back to Edson when YS went out if business.

Blaise is probably right about the years. Since your boat is an '81 you probably need to get a serial number and call Edson. I found my Edson doc and our '79s are model number 335. The serial number is supposedly on the casting, on the top edge under the binnacle if you remove it. Not sure if you can find the page in their catalog but mine is listed "Steering Maintenance Parts List EB-204-2". It shows all the shaft, sprocket, and bearing numbers but not the chain nor the wheel. And it illustrates them for two models, the 335 and the 400.

the Pedestal has the Edson decal on it, like you had mentioned earlier so maybe the change was late '81?

Here are a couple pictures of mine if it is any help. The shift lever is mounted on the back, up is reverse and down is forward. The throttle is on the right side and back is slowest. What is it that you need?

If you can swing it, I would replace the plate, the guard and the shoes to accept 1 1/4" guard. You can still stay with the 9" spread if you want since space is at a premium in most cockpits. I purchase a new 1" pipe guard with a double bend to acomodate the 2 Navpods and now I have a hard time feeding all the wires needed for all the instruments up the 1" pipe.
