Hi Jimmy!
Oh yes. I've been in since the beginning of May and Penny we've done a few overnighters. Last week we got out to Mount Hope Bay for the first time this year. Penny and I sailed down to the Spar Islands and anchored on the North side for the night. In the morning after breakfast, I took Penny over in the kayak and grabbed my pole to do a little fishing. I casted my Atom lure Striper Swiper Popper on the rocky South side of the island while standing in knee deep water and something large jumped at it and missed. Then I gave it another cast and hooked into a 31" Striper. I finally got a keeper this year and I'm happy. After that we sailed to Church Cove near the Mount Hope Bridge area of Bristol RI and did a little beach combing and sailed back after lunch. I got to try out my whisker pole on the way back as we sailed wing & wing toward the Braga Bridge and Battleship Cove Fall River Ma. I wish I'd have bought a whisker pole years ago. What a difference in speed going down wind and the wind was light too.
One of my friends gave me that whisker pole last year and it sure works great on my boat.
The fourth pic shows the Mount Hope Bridge and Church Cove is on the right hand side behind Mount Hope Pt.
That fifth pic shows the cooling towers of Brayton Pt. Generating Station and the Braga Bridge is just to the right. This is were "Big Mamie" the battleship Massachusetts is moored in Battleship cove, Fall River.

We're doing great Jimmy and I hope that you are too. Thank you for thinking of me.
Smooth Sailing!
Joe

Sounds like it was a wonderful sailing trip Joe. Nice fish! Great pics as well. You look nice and relaxed at the helm there. Life is treating you well.

It was great Jim. When I was sailing back up the river this guy yelled to me from his down-easter in an admonishing gesture,-- "You're having too much fun!" and I laughed my butt off and said,-- " Yuh, I know!"
This retirement business is tough stuff but somebody's got to do it.
My wife baked one of the Striper fillets and she coated the other fillet with egg, flour, spices, and Panko bread crumbs and fried it. Man was that ever good!
The next time I go out there again I'm bringing the cole slaw, and French fries and I'm going to fry it up on the boat just like that. Penny loves fish too, so we're going to chow down on the next trip.
It's funny because we always anchor on the North side of those islands and I wake up sometimes at 1:00 and 2:00 AM and go out in the cockpit with my PJs and slippers on and cast a popper and never even get a strike. Heck, all the fish are on the South side of the island hanging around the rocks searching for food. Anyone with the brains that God gave a chipmunk should know that. So, where the heck have I been all these years? :doh:Doh!
