Front hatch

The front hatch on my 1984 H22 is shot. Frame (plastic) is broken. Hold down is broken. etc. rain water leaks in. I am tired of trying to fix it. and fed up with drying out the v berth cushion It's time to bite the bullet and replace it with an aluminum one.
I believe it is about 17" square.. I looked in several boat places for this size, but I haven't found one.
Has any one out there replaced their front hatch?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is one available on SBO that is suppose to be the replacement for it. I believe you have to enlarge the opening a bit, I don't know I haven't done it.

i bought some white HDPE high density poly e something from a local plastics house, Farco Palstics the tampa area. it's the same stuff they use for storage covers on fishing boats. works great. it will stain a bit, but cleans off easily. rust takes a bit more, maybe even a light sand. i was tired of building one every two years out of cabinet grade plywood. solid as a rock too.
