Being in Mississippi, I've done some "southern" rigging. To run the topping lift, I used a shackle to put a block at the base of the mast (using the upper hole in the mast foot, the other hole goes to the vang), then ran the topping lift through the turning block and back to the rope clutch. I've got another block for the out haul, or the reefing, but have to fix my other rope clutch. Seemed to work first time out.
