Looks like Anagada to me but I'm sorta just guessin.... Draft coming in the approach there is something to be mindful of. He was probably focusing on not grounding and shooting the approach and forgot all the other important things. Lots of important things. I'm just in total shock. Did I really just see that happen???? I gotta love how the others helped him without cussin and berating this guy. Clearly in over his head but noone was nasty. That really impresses me about the sailing community.
How much damage to the other boats??? How many lobsters and Dark and Stormies did this capt. have to buy for all the helpers??? My credit card shudders in horror.

Hilarious! I actually think most of the others were having fun, great comic relief.

Definitely Anegada. I know for a fact that the sounder would have been telling him he had zero water under the boat. Conch sets a 15' offset buffer, and I took the sistership of that boat there 2 years ago, and right about where they are the sounder was saying -1ft of water (which I knew to mean 14ft)... I wonder if the guys at Conch have seen this video, the contract clearly states it is off limits, so the captain is completely on the hook for all damages and repairs. Insurance wont cover that at all!

Totally agree. I was pretty sure it was Anagada but tryin to be humble. Yeah my first thought was did he have "permission" to go there. Many charter companies require proof of competance to "allow" one to go over there. Not familiar with that company but from what you are saying they forbid it as a general rule. So yeah that guy is totally screwed for all damages. God protects drunks and fools and maybe he just caused "minor cosmetic damage" that his victims didn't need to press for fixing.
I would love to be a fly on the wall when he turns in the boat and they say so how was your trip???

Emmanuel is a charter boat in the Apostle Islands and watching this just gives me nightmares about what charter people do to my boat.

I think the gal in the blue bikini should've handled it by herself. She was doing a fine job ( very fine job) holding the boat in place and then those other guys had to start barking orders.

You are right, Tim.. funny.. and great the way the other sailors got things under control with no shouting.. The contents of the little insulated cups may have had something to do with the relaxed attitude, but I think it was a fine show of how sailors will generally pull together (small pun there) to get things straightened out .. most know that they may be in a similar prediciment sometime..

I am going to guess this guys sailing resume looked like this:

-Watched Pirates of the Caribbean
-My uncles second cousins dogs best friends owner has a sailboat. I met him at a cook out once.
-My wife hangs our sheets on a clothesline and I haul them in to the deck and take down the "sails".
-My car has a steering wheel too.

I've seen this kind of thing happen in marinas. UGLY. It's amazes me that you have to have a license to drive a car but any body can charter a boat with no experience. Fair Winds and Full Sails...

Ok, feel better now, thought I was the only one to notice the blue bikini.

I was somewhat amazed when I filled out my first "sailing resume" for my first charter and was very honest about my experience. Own a Catalina 30, anchor out about a dozen times a year in pretty protected waters, no experience in a Bennateau...

Bam! You can charter anything under 40 feet! Welcome aboard!

I did find the BVI pretty easy though fwiw.
