OT - Windows 7 question

Where do the photos reside on the computer? I have some of my own sailing photos I want to add to the "canned" photos that come with W7. I've searched on my hard drive for the names of those photos that appear in Control Panel with no luck.

C:\Users\{your name}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\sailing\DesktopBackground

where {your name} is the directory for your files that appears if you open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and go to C:\Users

The AppData directory is a hidden directory by default. You can access it by cutting and pasting the link above into Windows Explorer and making the change to your name, or you can tell Explorer to always show hidden files. Click on help, type "show hidden files" into the search box and follow the directions.

BTW, some cool sailing photos.

Hope that helps,
Jim

You can convert ANY picture on your comuter to background wallpaper on Vista, XP.... any windows OS for that matter. For Vista, right click on an open area of your desktop... choose PERSONALIZE and follow instructions. Download and save any picture you find on the net, from email, dig camera, whatever..... to a file of your choice... use the desktop "properties" or "personalize" feature to install your own background.

Here's my current background.... taken at Indian Rocks Beach, Fla... 2003.

That said... the windows 7 stuff has sound embedded... and I've never tried that on the background function. That's more of a SCREENSAVER deal... W7 apparently has a prog to run that... you probably need another 2 gig memory to handle it on Vista or XP.. heh, heh.

Perked up my monday just a bit. Any way to change the sound to ice rustling in the cooler and a cold one popping open?
Thanks
Mike

Thanks to Brian and Jim. I downloaded this and then used Jim's code to add my photos so it alternates on the screen. Very cool. My wife is not to pleased with how far over some of the boats are heeling. It does add drama to the photos though.

OK, thread resurrection again! LOL

I've got this background going on my laptop and I just noticed that the picture with the boat on starboard tack in the open ocean is different. The boat with the blue suncover on the jib and the mainsail sack(?). What is that permanent sailcover called?

If you look closely, the winches are loaded counter-clockwise. Someone can correct my mis-understanding but I think this picture is flipped right to left. And the boat is really on a port tack but that would put it under all the icons on most desktops.

Artistic license? or just ignorance? Hey! It's Macro-Suck so I'm leaning towards ignorance.

Permanent SailCover depends on who makes them, but commonly called a Stack Pack (sp?)
