I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
Went down to the boat today. Did some major cleaning, cleaned out the fresh water system and filled her, and did a lot of different checks on the boat. I started the engine and she purred right at the push of the starter! It was like I just ran the engine a few hours before I started it. That is always a nice thing to come back to after sitting for the winter.

Finished up by putting on the canvass and the sails. I would have loved to gone out for an overnight cruise but the weather is horrible. It is going to blow a gale here tomorrow and rain.

Yeah! You're sure right about the weather! It's really something! I don't remember it being this cold this late in the 16 years I've had a sailboat! I launched April 7th thinking maybe THAT might make a difference! No way! Bill on STARGAZER

I was supposed to launch tomorrow, but the marina called me earlier this week to say they pushed me back to next week because; due to the weather, they are still operating on winter hours, and therefore are not working weekends...

So instead tomorrow I'm going down to do some electricial work that was originally going to get done after launching, and hope I can get away with painting the bottom while the marina workers are gone (see previous thread for background on that saga)...

One of the good things about a trailer sailor. Was able to get out on Thursday. Weather was sun, 14C, wind 8 knts. Was the first sailboat on the bay for about an hour. Others joined in. Now the weather is back to near winter. High winds. Possable snow tommorrow.

I'm still a month away. Ice just left the pool yesterday.

I've got most of her sanded down. I'm now waiting for a nice Saturday to start slopping paint. Sanding was the most miserable job I've ever done. The bottom of my hull is flat and level so the only way to sand is to squeeze myself between it and the trailer. I'm not a big guy, but it was still very miserable! So, I need to prime, then Hydrocoat the bottom. Prime and Easypoxy the topsides. Rebuild some trailer parts. Rebuild my towing supports for the mast. Finish the brightwork and upholstery. Oh, and the e-brake on the truck is gone. Very handy when your launching 5500 lbs of boat and trailer.

So, think of me while you're out there.

Can't even get ready...

Check out the web cam at my marina this morning. It is looking south east. I'm on the hard essentially right under the camera wide open to the east. Wind chill is 30 now and dropping as the wind increases all day. Yuch! This is why your marina cancelled FourPoints...good thing!

yeah, stepping the mast today would have really sucked. I doubt it could have even safely been done with this wind. Oh well, took it easy during the week knowing that I didn't have to rush to go in today, and took the time to re-oil all the interior woodwork today instead :)
