Newport Beach to Ensenada BC 2011 Race

when do y'all get here?? we can test anchor until ye get here if necessary---is cheap enough here to spend some time....and i have this wonderful 60 pound bruce and a manual 2 speed windlass to test out...and new chain......LOL.....

Don't change plans for us! I have no idea when we'll be there. Start is Friday. Finish is Saturday-Sunday. Cut off about 11:00 AM Sunday. Party at Bahia Saturday & Sunday. Awards about 1:00 PM Sunday. If you are there, don't miss it! Way much fun. I'll look for you. Do you think you are in the anchorage then? Do you have a cellphone there?
On Our Way...
...powering down to Newport Beach for the start. We left Long Beach about 0930 to get away from the Gran Prix. Couldn't hear ourselves think. Better if you have a view of the race track! Anyhow, our class starts at 1240. Wind will be good, 10-18 knots until about 2000 when the fan shuts off big time. Will be a looooong night.

i will be on anchor awaiting your arrival..LOL.....we have been having winds all nite here-- mebbe will be a gift from sea gods for ye....look for the formosa with rasta rub rail at anchor near a mariner 40-- come over for a visit..lol if dink is behind boat i am home-i have a walker bay 8ft. i also have a kayak--red n ratty looking-- hanging on my caprail, port side...LOL

uhih i best hurry and anchor lol... gonnabe overwhelmed by shiney boats LOL..... 20 willgo to juanitos botes, where i have been for a week.....i have wonderful good things to say about these folks--nice and secure and the folks are smart... fixed my boat,watched over me and made sure i am safe---is goood place.
Took A Second In Class
We took a second in class. 41+ hours. It was a war of attrition in light and shifty winds for almost all the sail. One of the toughest I have done! Will post a few pix when we get back from MX. So far, three seconds and a first. And, a bunch of also-rans.

glad to hear ye did good-- i was anchored in mid of bay on top of a donot anchor here buoy-solitary bird in all her glory!--- didja pass me? i was sooo sick with flubug given by now thank gods former crew that i could not move at all.(these lasted 3 days--just long enough to pass on bugs and run like doggies when i sed i was gonna sail 100 mi off shore...) bubby was worried-- thought i wasnt gonna be able to feed his fat self!!

Hey Rick, saw that ya took second. And sorry we didnt do it. Had some stuff going on up to the start and decided logistics would just drive us up to Catalina. Had a fun week. Apparently the "apparantlies" were tough. Saw Dennis took some major brass home though.
