Help with water heater install

I'm looking for advice on replacing the Raritan round 6 gal water heater on my O28. I'm looking at the square Seaward or Kuuma units with heat exchanger. anybody have any ideas on which might mate up with the current hoses?? any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, max

I replaced the Atwood H2O heater on my 322 with a Seaward unit. Mating up the hoses was not an issue. I can't be 100% sure, but I would think that there's a certain degree of standardization in this regard (sort of like lightbulb sockets). 1/2" NPT is a pretty standard fitting, as I recall.

BTW, I'm pretty pleased with the performance of the Seaward unit thus far (2 seasons).

How long does it take using 120v to heat 6 gallons with one of those?

Not very long at all. There were some occasions last season where I was getting ready to clean up supper dishes, and realized I hadn't turned the water heater on after getting back from work. Flip the switch, wait maybe 15-20 minutes tops, and there's enough to get the dishwashing underway.

It might take a little longer to heat the entire tank (say, if you were eager to shower on board), but not too much more, I'd say.
