thankyou !!!! we popped the mizzen- has a 10 inch tear in it at the hanks. there is a seam so i can fix with sail tape and stitches. crew-- one with mal de mer and one got a money making career opportunity not to be ignored -- they may return for canal portion. at least canal isnt big rollers in pacific making seasickness real. i am so glad i dont suffer that. is a painful thing to endure.
spot is on the withsailsunfurled.com website. will remain there until mazatlan, after which time i will have my own site and spot activated. sksolitarybird.com is still in developmental stages and we will both be working on it as i go.
tom wont be able to finish trip as he needs to make a flight in mazatlan and our sailing birdee isnt as fast s she shoulda been for his needs--dangit-- he may join another time-- canal is still in front of me. david is gonna pursue his filmmaking adventures and prolly join me at a later date to pursue his fun goals and make his adventures easier.
i ducked into ensenada for a coupla days and learned the departure of these 2 is immediate-- they will stay with me until sat then tom will go to mazatlan and david to sd.... i hope i can get to maz before tom has to leave for washington state.
as always, i do have crew openings--always happy to have folks come sail!

wasnt planning on stopping at all-- got here (ensenada) due to omens and ghosties and seasick crew. now getting new crew and will go to maz prolly thu or when newport to ensenada race ends..... dont know which-- depends on crew and alladat....is kinda fun here but i prefer to sail out .... was a strong cold front and was predicted to be severe... but severe here is like extreme in gulf of mexico--- so our winds ere 80kt+..predicted as 75 kt.we rode the prefrontals to salsipuedes then calm hit and we went into ensenada as a result.....bell spontaneously fell off mount, mizzen tore before raising, and after inspection-- 10 in tear in a place easy to repair...whew--- yipes is a lot of omens on the first leg!!!! we see what comes along on second!!

ensenada is a great place to be broke --lol-- paydayis weds and new crew coming tomorrow 2300-- we shouldbe leaving again thursday-- newport -ensenada race ends soon and here is gonna be soooo busy with many many boats in harbor-- need to buy a 3 manand a boy battery--eeps-- lol with constaant charging , theold one is only 12.4-12.3 v..... i need pumps to run well, not at intervals , until i get to maz, at which time i will save and haul-- willbe there a while, until winter i believe. solar panels arent hooked up at present, so dock power is my charge method for now-- willhook up solar panel to batts while under way to keep topped off and use electronix...
.seems old crew had flubug-- i am queasy now--yukkkkkkkk...nothing like kid germs to wreck yer day.
bubba is awesome-- guards boat well with hissing , growling and spitting, claws bared..gooood kitty.....

If you are still there when I get in at the end of the race I will look you up. (in case the flu bug causes you to hang around a few days). (BTW, why leave early? The Ensenada happening are great fun! Come join everyone at La Bahia. Heck, given where you are at and new crew joining, it would be a shame to miss it!)
