I know all of you have been waiting, holding your breath, wondering when, wishing I would hurry up and do this, and just itching to see my cool new SC state flag spinnaker. OK, maybe not everyone, but I've been doing all of the above wanting to show you. A friend took this right before we wrapped it up for Christmas. We STILL haven't flown it, yet.

I promise to fly it as soon as possible and post pictures.

Lovin the palmetto and crecent moon...... Where in sc do you sail?



The logo is recognizeable all over the world...was in charles de gaulle in paris once. And a fellow saw my hat with the palmetto and crecent....turned out he was from the irmo side of the lake....only a few miles across lk murray

Wateree Lake, SC. Just north of Camden where I grew up. Wateree is a long narrow lake. Some folks still refer to it as "the river." Maybe not as famous as the Great Lakes or the 1000 Islands (spent a few days there this past summer... fantastic!) but dang it sure is nice. Love to have you come visit sometime. Do you know Brian Adams of Lanier Sailing Academy? He came over from Lake Murray for my ASA 101 certification on my boat. Great fellow. Sort of a British kinda guy.

Sure do.....he taught me 101 and let me use his capri 22. With the happy sails club this past year....


One of the good guys...


If i ever get al the comissioning stuff done, we will have to trade boat rides....live down here on the lexington side of the lake

One of my Uncles use to own and race an Express 37 that was named Breathless. His spinnaker had a GIGANTIC rolling stones lips and tongue symbol on it. It was on the cover of a Cleveland Racing publication back in the late 80s or early 90s. It was pretty cool.

Lovely spinnaker!
I have the palmetto/moon on a bumper sticker here in Indiana. I've been asked if I was Muslim by a few Hoosiers. These people don't get out much.

I had a Yankee tell me he thought the SC flag looked kinda Muslim and then said "no offense intended." My reply was "some offense taken." I had never thought of it that way until I looked up Muslim flags. I kinda could see what he meant. But dang, I still took a little offense.

I'm glad y'all like my spinnaker. Still itchin' to fly it.

I'll let you know how well the custom sail works out. But until then, check out he FX Sails website. www.fxsails.com They're in Charleston, SC. Very nice guy to work with. The custom part added a good bit to the price, though. My wife was not too happy when I spent money on the spinnaker. I'm pretty sure she'd be VERY testy with me if I told her how much extra it cost for the custom design. But dang it's worth it!

Found it using a google search. Gave me the exact same website. Only difference is it worked for me that time. I'm enjoying the site!
