Spot HUG

Does anyone have any experience with Spot HUG system? I am looking for a system that will monitor bilge water, intrusion, theft, etc. HUG seems to have that plus some messaging(SOS, web updates), trip tracking and it is satellite based as opposed to some other systems I found that were cell based.

I know there are a couple of home-made remote monitoring systems but I like the additional features of the HUG and the fact that it is satellite based.

This is the first I've heard of this. My experience with the SPOT first generation beacon makes me optimistic that this will turn out to be a very good system.

Slick! Also had not seen that. Like Roger, my SPOT never failed us. Seems to be a solid technology. I see that Zeehag is using it, watched her leaving San Diego Bay. But adding security?! What a great idea for people cruising into strange territory.

No experience Tim, but I looked at it on the Spot webite AFTER I bought my brand new Spot. REI doesn't stock the HUG in their stores, I didn't even know bout it until after the fact. Had I known about it, I might have considered it.
