Beautiful spring day on Lake Erie. My second work day since the boat came back. I took some pictures with the Droid but can't find the cable.

Murphy was with me as usual. Found a cup or two of water in the engine pan mixed with oil !? Cleaned that up and placed a couple of paper towels where I hope I can detect where it is coming from. And there was a thin film of oil on the bilge water. So I plugged the aftmost limber hole to see if it is related to the engine pan oil. Not sure why a truck ride from Florida would show up a problem like this.

Then I tackled a non-working bilge pump. Found a bad crimp AND a bad Rule float switch. Didn't someone write that there is a better option for a float switch? It will run my 2000gph Rule pump which is fine.

Got the bilge clean and also got the handrails into the car. Took the reworked stanchion and new lifelines but did not install them. Brought tons of stuff home that was on the boat for the trip south. Now I am wondering if I should sell things I probably will never use like a new alternator and old winches. Decisions and work, work and decisions, never ends.

What's the saying "a bad day at the boat yard is better than a good day at work?"

I remember when we bought our OI41 in FL in 1994 and had it trucked it up to IL. After it spent a winter in cold IL, the fuel got really gunky (not a guy term) and we had a mess. Bill could fill you in the details, but apparently fuel in FL is different than IL fuel. Regarding selling stuff, I don't know how many times we have sold boat stuff and then needed it later.
