The material on my sliding companion way hatch is so crazed you can't see through it. Does anyone know what the material is? Is it Lexan?
The crazing is all of the way through. Can it be buffed. ?I buffed mine with 3 m clearcoat machine compound. ,worked great.
Not to change the subject, but as side question, Steve, Have you removed the "sea hood" and what could a guy expect in the way of problems etc. ThanksI doubt that Hunter ever used Lexan on any of their boats. Acrylic is the material of choice for sun exposure (acrylic does not yellow & is more scratch resistant). While it is not as strong it is fine for our applications.
You may want to do some searches on the different products.
There are also differences in the quality of acrylics so do your home work. The American made stuff is supposed to be much better quality.
You will need to remove the sea hood to r/r the companionway hatch. Be careful with removing the seahood.
