Does anyone know the specs size, thread etc.,of the Shroud Turnbuckles on the H26 (1998 model)?

However it references a West Marine part which is a
T-Bolt with Toggle, 5/16" Pin Dia., 4"L.
(C.S. Johnson 33-618 5/16-24 LH 'T' Toggle Jaw)
The existing T-bolt with toggle is a Gibb 5/16-24 LH and is 3.5"L.
It looks like my existing turnbuckle body will accept the extra 1/2" bolt length.
I have not found anyone, selling just the T-Bolt?
Also most sellers do not list the length.

Rigging Only sold me the 5/16" T-bolt by itself. Note to self: when raising an H-26 mast ALWAYS check the shroud turnbuckles and make sure they are free during the entire lift. BrianW

Also I saw a tip once to insert pieces of foam in the U-bolts under the toggle jaws to keep them in position during the mast lifting.

Sea Casper, I'm sorry, but I can't find my records and part number for for the T-bolt. After looking at the Rigging Only online catalog, I now believe I bought the jaw and T-bolt together (still a reasonable price). It has 5/16-24 threads. In their catalog, it is listed as "Threaded Toggle Jaws, Part number 316TJRH or 316TJLH (left or right handed). I honestly cant remember if its LH or RH threads. Talk to Rigging Only, they can help you choose between the two, especially if you get the stamped info from your turnbuckle. They may even sell you the T-Bolt only. BrianW
P.S. Thanks for the tip on the foam. All it takes is ONE bent T-bolt to find a better way. Since my "ONE TIME" , I now use the foam insert method.

Here's the original pic of my hi-tec foam Tb fix. I also placed a guide at the side stay T on the mast made of 1/2" pvc 2 hole electrical pipe strap. A single pop rivet on the rearward end of the strap keeps it aligned and still allows easy removal if necessary. The fore stay got a strap too but with 2 rivets. No need to ever worry about a twisted fitting/turnbuckle.....but still watch everything.
Nearly every dismasting of these boats is related to a twisted/poorly seated TB or T fitting that eventually breaks.

I have been using scrap pieces of solid bare copper wire to hold the shrouds vertical to the lifelines. The copper is wrapped on the shroud and twisted on the lifeline, when the shrouds tension they pull away. You can use anything similar to hold them, string, ribbon, rubber-bands, etc..

They run $80 to $90 each.
That was the Evil Blue Empire’s price, so probably $70 or $80.
But you ONLY need 4!

Actually, you probably could, but I don’t see the point. With a fractional rig, you are tensioning the forestay when you tension the others. Only adjustment needed on the forestay would be to change the rake of the mast. Once that is set, you shouldn’t need to change it. It is a good idea however, to check that the turnbuckle in the furler is pinned.
