March of last year after months of searching the internet and local marinas we narrowed our choices to three boats. We set out on a five day journey that covered over 2300 miles through ten different states.

The link below is an overview of that trip and the three boats we looked at.

It looks like a good choice, and a great plan. Now the fun starts, its not even close to work, more an affair of the heart. You might video the whole process till the first launch, so other boat hunters can see just what it takes from start to sailing. Good Sailing

Did you notice that they don't charge tolls to get into the state, only to get out?
I don't know how many times when I said I was from Jersey someone asked me which exit. Sad part I knew it was exit 98 or 105 off of the Garden State Parkway.

BTW, What kind of cookies?

Yeah! What Sam said!

That was a great video story. You chose the boat with the most character. Good luck getting her ready and keep the camera going!

Good luck with the new baby

Nice job on the video & enjoy the boat.

Last weekend a fellow working the Pettit Paint booth at the AC boat show told me he was from "west" Jersey. That is an unusual term and can't be associated with ANY exit.

Turns out he lives in Clinton, Hunterdon County - about 1 mile from my office.

Thanks for the comments. This trip took place last year around this time. Upon our arrival in Atlanta we were in the service yard for 45 days prior to going back in the water. We worked and often stayed on the boat most every weekend last summer. So yes, I have many project and progress photos that I will share. We made very good progress stopping all cabin leaks, removed and re-bedded everything on deck, new bowsprit and anchor platform, removed and re-bedded the teak toe rail (this one I hope was a once in a lifetime) etc. etc.

All the while getting in some good days of sailing here and there. This spring we are moving into the interior, most of which we refinished last year and have in a stroage unit ready to go back in.

And yes we have loved every minute of it!

Great web site

Roger,

I have enjoyed visiting your site and following your projects. I especially like the planing that goes into each one of them. Really good stuff.
