Jeez...will Mother Nature give it a rest! We have gotten over two feet in the last ten days. I have to go shovel off the boat! :cussing:

I would recommend using your S2 sailboats to come and join me in the Dominican Republic for warmth and cheap beers. Today I changed the oil and filter, reverse gear oil and fuel filters and adjusted and lubed all mechanical systems, it was hot and sweaty. The used oil a local guy BOUGHT off me for a liter of Presidente beer. I now am enjoying 2$ liters of Presidente and eating 2 full meals for 3$ each, one bacon cheeseburger and one Grouper fingers with potato salad and beans and rice. Luperon baby!

Awesome! I haven't even seen my boat in a month...and it doesn't seem like I will any time soon. A few more inches of snow this week and I still have to go shovel her off. The fact that you guys went south is priceless. You will never regret it.

Us Mid-Atlantians have dodged this week's bullet. Supposed to drive to Boston & Albany this weekend though. Not looking forward to it.

I'm really glad that I had my boat shrink wrapped this winter...definitely money well spent. This past Wednesday, the blizzard plus the lake effect snow (SE Lake Michigan) dumped about 2 ft here with enormous drifts. Another couple of inches is predicted over the next few days...

S2 27 mob!

Pretty unusual: Back to back S2 27 posts in a non S2 forum!
I haven't been to the yard since New Years day. I feel delinquent.
At least I have the engine at home to tinker with. Want my bilge to be as clean as Mainesail's pictures, so I'm doing as many gaskets as I can.

Hey Bob,
Yep, it is unusual! I think that Rick P., you, and I are the only 27 owners who post on this site. As you know, S2 only made 85 hulls of the "non-metric" 27 (S2 also made 20 hulls of the non-metric 22 model in 1987, and 35 hulls of the 35 model from '86-'87). Some S2 owners are unaware of the non-metric models, because there are so few of them, and many of the brochures and literature that are up on the web stop at about the '84 model year.

Even the 27 class association Yahoo group only has 14 members. It would be nice to have more folks participate. :D

BTW, that's a great avatar photo of your boat under sail.

Not again...

I wanted to check the weather this morning so I could decide whether to go to check on the boat today or tomorrow. Lots of ice last night took out our cable, so no internet and no TV. My Wife was going stir crazy so we went out shopping for some new furniture. Long story short I just checked the weather and we are expecting four inches of snow ending at 10 am but the meterologists are more worried about the BIG storm on Monday. :cussing:

For crying out loud. Sorry to whine again but I have really had enough! It cost me over $2K to get up to three feet of snow shoveled off the roof a few weeks ago.

As this is my first season here in The Great Lakes I am glad I sprung for inside unheated storage at Torresen's. Still VERY cold to this former Phoenician, but at least I don't have to worry about snow buildup. (I get enough of that at the house)

I can't wait to launch SevenSundays and sail on Lake Michigan!

Inside storage? Wow...that must be pricey! I finally got out to check on Triple Play yesterday and she was fine. No water inside and the boom tent obviously did okay this winter. After this winter I guess I need not worry about anything. We still have about 15 inches on the ground but we are supposed to get a ton of rain tonight and tomorrow.
