Isn't the 12vdc output 10 amps? That would take something like 48 hours run time to charge my house batts! The little stinker would drive me nuts at hour 5.I have used a generator to recharge my batteries whilst cruising this summer, it was not very efficient, (very slow to recover charge) so I think I will use the 12volt terminals to the batteries direct. Has anyone done this?
Actually, you could wait forever and it would not charge batteries. Remember that voltage is synonymous with power in the sense that no current would flow to the batteries unless the charger voltage exceeds that of the batteries.Isn't the 12vdc output 10 amps? G'Day,
Are you stowing your Honda generators, in a particular way when underway? Where is it when operating for CO venting...? Would you consider the 3000 Watt model or is the 2000 sufficient?

The 2000 Companion w/30 amp out let, the 30 amp outlet only works when a EU2000i is hooked yo a EU2000i Companion in series. You have to have both generators to have the 30 amp plug work. The 3000 gets up there in weight and size. I believe it is on a wheeled carriage? I've found it better to use the Honda 2000 connected to the shore power input/charger than to use the 12-volt output to charge. I look back and wish I'd bought the 2000 with the 30-amp output, but no 12-volt.
Do you have one and know this to be a fact? Does not sound logical and my Honda Catalog does not mention it. And certainly not in series. There are outputs to gang the generators for increase amps. The 2000 Companion w/30 amp out let, the 30 amp outlet only works when a EU2000i is hooked yo a EU2000i Companion in series. To clarify for oithers, my intent was to mean the 30-amps CONNECTOR, not that there was 30 amps of power.i happen to own two eu2000is and the connection kit...yes you need two generators and both must be running for the full output to be available.
Remember that is 10 amps at 110v for you or 240 vfor me.Isn't the 12vdc output 10 amps? That would take something like 48 hours run time to charge my house batts! The little stinker would drive me nuts at hour 5.
The 12-volt output is 8 amps according to the owner's manual.Isn't the 12vdc output 10 amps?
I had a Honda 8 with 12-volt charger, and now a Honda 2000 with 12-volt charger. It was my thought that the "12 volts" was mearly enough to keep the lights and guages running. Today I took a reading of the 2000's 12-volt charging output, and read an open-circuit output of 19 to 20 vlolts. The 12-volt output is 8 amps according to the owner's manual.
