We had a bit of cold weather this week which got me to thinking. . .
The Willamette Valley here in Oregon has fairly moderate temperatures but in the winter we do sometimes drop below freezing for several days. This week it was a couple of days with lows in the low 20's and highs near freezing.
Our battery is a 105 aH group 27(?) that's about 4 years old. The battery handled this first freeze fine, but the long-range forecast is for a colder than normal winter.
Verboten is on the trailer for the winter, with the battery in its spot in the v-berth and the solar panel hooked up to keep it charged. I don't have access to power so running a light or small heater is out of the question.
So, when should I start worrying about having the battery freeze?
