Hunter 30 Tolchester, Md
I have a 1989 ( early model) Hunter 30. Some years ago the original holding tank was replaced. I would like to replace that one with one similar to the original one which was more hull shaped. I cannot find the specs for this tank. Any help would be appreciated.

Your best source is Ronco Plastics

Your original tank was almost certainly aluminum...replaced after urine had eaten through it, hopefully with a plastic tank, but most likely an "off the shelf" rectangular tank.

Ronco Plastics (no relation to Ron Popeil and his Pocket VegoMatic) Ronco Plastics makes TOP quality plastic tanks for a very reasonable price--which becomes even more reasonable if you order it through the online store on this site--and has more than 400 shapes and sizes, over 100 of which are non rectangular. And they install fittings in the sizes and locations specified by the customer when they make the tank.

If your existing tank is more than about 6' from the toilet, you'll want to find a better location for it...I'll be glad to help you do that. Meanwhile, you might want to spend some time browsing the discussions in the Headmistress forums for some insight into how to install and maintain your system.

Web Link works fine

The link in Peggy's post works just fine and takes you to the Ronco catalog page. They are great folks to deal with.

Back in 2006 the aluminum water tank in My '88 H335 gave out. Hunter put me in contact with the original mfg, but I did not want another AL tank. I searched the Ronco catalog for a suitable replacement and could not find one to my liking. Hunter was kind enough to send me a .jpg file of the tank production drawing. Ronco worked with the drawing and I had a new poly tank with the same original shape and capacity in about 3 weeks.

I would love to know what you find out. Two years ago some of the local boat workers tried to find me a replacement tank on my 1988 Hunter 30 but said there was nothing at Ronco and could not find a replacement ... we took it out of the boat cleaned it and put it back in - it looks like the original - I would love to replace it!

Thanks

Rick

You can't seem to find WHOM on the web?

I think they are out of business. I cannot seem to find them on the web.
Ronco Plastics is most definitely NOT out of business, and the link I posted works just fine...all ya gotta do is click on it. Their phone also works...TALK to 'em! (I realize that actually talking to someone instead of texting or emailing has become a radical idea, but it's still the best way to solve some problems.

And fwiw, in the approx 10 years we were distributors for Ronco, there were fewer than half a dozen total boats for which we couldn't find a tank in their catalog to fit the best--which is not necessarily the original--space for a holding tank. If you need help doing that, all ya gotta do is email me.
