I'm still tryin' to figure that out too! Saturday I put the covers on both boats, so sunday I step outside to a day warmer than the last day I sailed on this year...
Pooch looking over the rail reminds me of our mutt - whenever another boat passes I can't resist asking him how the waves up ahead look... he always answers (Ruff!)..:D

So how do you rate an Indian summer ? All we have to look forward to here in Vancouver, B.C. is five months of rain until we see the sun again.

It is hard to complain this year ...

New Jersey often has spectacular Octobers and this year has been one of the best! This year's bonus has been that there are 5 weekends in October. The sailing weather has been exceptional this October. I am going to reconsider when to take vacation next year ... I think it will be in October

Here's a scene on the Hudson from last week ... Southbound I presume!

Scott, even without checking your location info, I can tell you were not in eastern NC. I believe we set a record for the most over 90 degree days this summer. There were many days when I might have gone sailing but it was just too hot for the setup and takedown when trailer sailing. I am enjoying the cooler weather for now. -Paul

Don, that doesn't make me jealous at all!

I took my week off in late August ... 90's, humid, no wind ... what a drag! This whole month has had spectacular sailing weather. But 2 weeks from now, I will probably be putting the cover on ...

But what can beat this weather!

For those of you who have never lived in SUNNY Nevada we have two seasons. Summer and Winter. Fall and Spring happen at midnight on the solstace. We went from 100+ to low 70's in less than two weeks. This year we had almost three weeks of 110+ with a high of 118. It ain't hell but you can see it from here. Someone once told me, "Yeah, but it's dry heat." I responded, "Yeah, but I don't sit in my oven all day." That being said, living hear is great. Good sailing if the lake doesn't dry up, good golf, no snow, no tornadoes, no shaky ground. Only thing missing is the ocean. Fair Winds....
