the boat info lists the height of the mast of a 33' (Cherubini) as 47'3", is this above water or the deck? thanks for any input. . .

Who knows the height from the water to the deck?
Your height should give leeway to a bridge of 50 feet.
The 50 figure is worst-case high tide, unique on charts.
All the water depths are of course worst-case low tide.
Remember: Maps tell us where to go.
Charts tell us where not to go.

I've got a copy of the Hunter Cherubini specification manual. Exact year, I'm not sure, but its certainly for the Cherubini models. For the Hunter 33 it's: "Mast Height" = 41' 0" and then "From Waterline" 47' 3".

One thing that just caught my attention is that the difference between the two figures is 6' 3" which would be the height of the cabin top (or mast base at the deck) to the water line.
This seems like a lot. Standing next to a floating Cherubini 33 a few weeks ago that had a transient slip inn my marina, I don't recall noticing that the deck level would have been a foot higher than my Cherubini H36. For the Cherubini H36 the specification manual difference between the "mast height" and "from waterline" numbers is 5' 0". And for another comparison, for the H37C its 5' 1".

Have the mast out of my 37c. Extrusion was 52'-10" My understandiing of above water ht is 50' for this boat. Mast base was about 1-3" below cabin sole, and I know sole is below waterline a foot or so. I am comfortable with 50 above WL. there is about 6-3 headroom in the cabin at the mast, and with a couple of inches for deck thickness, height above deck may be 46'-47'. " "P" dimension from boom to top of main is 45'. Hope this helps clarify.
