oday 26 1986 fl
Hi: my name is George and I am new to this site. We are buying my father-in-laws (he is turning 90 and bought a house boat) Oday 26 that is moored in Miami and we need to bring it up to a lake in New York where my daughter and her husband keep a boat. I don't have a trailer. If anyone knows of a trailer I could buy in South Florida so I can bring the boat back in May. Also does anyone know how much the boat weights?
Thanks
George

George,
According to this site, http://www.iheartodays.com/model_oday_26.html The O'Day 26 displacement weight is 4800 lbs. That's not including the gear and etc weight. I would talk to a trailer dealer about setting up a trailer for this boat. He has the specs on the O'Day 26 and can figure out the trailer size and GVWR of the trailer. Where you plan on hauling this boat at a great distance, I wouldn't fool around with an old trailer that you would need to Mickey Mouse to get the boat to fit on it. I would go new. It can be a simple large tandem powerboat trailer with a keel board and high extension brackets for the cloth bunks to accommodate the depth of the keel, or it could be a compete roller trailer which would cost you more money. The O'Day 26 hull is strong enough to take either one.
