Going to florida are ye?

Been there! Need answers? Stop in at Edgewater marina in Cleveland (where I stay and say hello! Party Saturday night..Margarita Night) or or or any of the others marina's in the area if you have reciprocity. In any case I can fill you in on stuff (it will remove any anxiety...well, minimalize it anyway...)as you go along.

Must have missed you going by. Did you see the Detroit Cup race near Belle Isle? Olympic gold medalist Anna Tunnicliffe is there racing against Dave Perry (Sailing World columnist, Rules & Tactics seminars among other things) and 10 others from around the world. It's pretty cool to be able to watch them from the lawn of my club.

Where are you staying tonight? Both Grosse Ile Yacht Club and Ford Yacht Club are nice, and are right at the end of the river before you get to Lake Erie. GIYC gives you one night free, if your club has the same policy.

Have fun, stay safe, enjoy your time on the water!

Crossing Lake Erie and the Canal

Here are some places that you might see or visit on your journey:
1) Put-In-Bay on South Bass Island.
2) Dunkirk YC, neat place, nicer people.
3) Black Rock Lock on the Niagra river, your first, lots of grass in the prop.
4) Entrance to Erie Canal, bear to starboard.
5) Wardell's to unstep the mast. We got there Saturday, he decided he wanted the day off and would see us Monday.
6) We tied up to the wall and walked into town(Tonowanda) for a concert. Took most of Monday for us to get three boats ready for the canal. We went under the bridge and tied up to the park wall. Started the canal journey on Tuesday.
