Should be fine. Do you think Garmen et. al. do their own surveys?

The trouble comes when trying to get that nice chart info into an electronic format and for example put your vessels position on the chart or integrate AIS info etc.

Are you asking if the (official Uscg/noaa) online edition of the coast pilot can be trusted, because it is in a digital format instead of on a dead tree?

No! I am asking because it is a US government publication and I have been told that fact can make it suspect because the USDA didn't enforce dust supression rules in grain storage facilities.
