Oday 28 question

Just purchased an Oday 28 and aparantly a PO had the cushions redone including the back resr for the births port and starbard. I can see two mounting places for the dushions to fit into, but when they recoved the back rest they did away with whatever was there to fit into the mounting devices. Can somrone shoot me a picture of how the backrest cushions fit into these? Also what is su[osed to be on the backrest/

Welcome to the forum.
Are your back cushions hinged? Mine are and there is a short cord with a loop attached to the cushions back. This cord holds the back cushion 90 deg up and attaches behind the shelf to allow more sleeping room. Hope thats what you are talking about.
Also what year is your 2, mine is a 1980

It's an '84 and nothing attached to the back cushions now. On each end of the cushion or actually behind the cushion are a peice of wood with a haldfcircle cut out into which I assume something is suposed to fit into. Basically two positions one up a bit higher to allowing sleeping.

On my 31 the back rest cushion has what I might call a pipe integrated into the top back edge of the cushion. The ends of the pipe fit into the wooden half circles you are looking at. One set of half circles for the regular position and the other set above for sleeping.

The pipe sounds like what must have been there before. Any chance to get a picture of your seat backs. I really would like to restore this feature.

I'm not too handy with the photo download thing but I'll see what I can do this weekend.
