Definitely. Waiting until after settlement though! Don't want to jinx the process! Was a member of the IC30A when I had "Victim of Fate" and got a lot of great information and help from them.

I suggest you start reading NOW! When you do your survey you'll be a LOT smarter. See: http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,5260.0.html

It's good to have as much information as you possibly can have before you finish your survey. I mentioned that "approach" and "attitude" in your last topic.

Great news for you, all the best.

I've been reading! Unlike last time, I will be ready. Sounds like I got a decent surveyor since he told me that he would be spending the entire day on the boat and to not plan anything! The last one was about 2 hours.

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone!

Congratulations Jack. I just closed on #294 a month ago and am still basking in the obscene luxuries as compared to my former 34 year old boat. Thought I'd be giving up some sailing performance for the comport but the difference is marginal. You're sure to enjoy her.

My surveyor did a great job, and even went up the mast. He did miss a problem with the fridge thermostat knob., which was cooling on the test sail, but not much. I later (during delivery from charleston to norfolk) determined thermo was set on dead low and not operable). He also never lit the oven , which trened out to need a new oven safety switch.

We are also in the process of buying a 2001 310. Our haulout/survey is next Thursday. We are so excited as this is a big move up from our Hunter 240. Keeping our fingers crossed that survey is positive and we can get her home by the end of the month! Good luck gpd955!

My wife commented on the difference in accomodations from the 1979 Catalina 30 to this boat. All I want is to be able to sail without worrying about system failures! The layout and features are an added bonus!

Thanks for the link. I noticed in one of the ones I looked at that the engine was rough at about 850rpm. The one I am in the process of buying was quieter but still doesn't seem to like low r's. I am used to an Atomic 4 that would start, stall, not start, run rough whenever it felt like it so I can deal with a tougher diesel! Our surveyor plans on being on the boat all day so I am sure (hoping) that he will find anything that may cause a problem.

Ours is also on Thursday. And hopefully I will be underway on the 29th and in our new slip on the 31st. Having crew availability issues though! Good luck with yours!

What engine does she have?

Please, don't keep us in suspense, or how else can we help you?

Universal/westerbeke M25xpb. Only has 500 hours on it. Looking forward to having a diesel after years of repairing my Universal Atomic 4. I'm actually buying the 310 for engine access alone!! My hands are already thanking me for saving them from the cuts and scrapes they got from the engine compartment in my C30.
