Progress on the rudder and other problems are progressing, SLOWLY. All parts and pieces needed are either here or on the way. I have now been gaining experience on my fiberglass skills. The hull where the rudder post comes through, and was cracked is now repaired. The rudder, which was badly cracked and broken where the post enters it, is coming along. In the pic of the rudder, you can see the tube sticking up. Using the old rudder post as a mold, I made a thin walled tube, to enable me to get the top of the rudder shaped back to origional and keep the post location exact. When I get farther along, will be simple to just take a sander and take the part that is sticking up off, down to shape. Right now it looks pretty crude, as in several spots, there is nothing under the new glass. So, it's a little at a time, let it cure out, and do some more. It is far from done, but have to get the shape and the hole for the post firmed up enough to do some more glass work.

Wow...that is quite a project. I am sorry that it happened and that the repair is so extensive. At least you have the know-how to DIY.

Great work, and super descriptions, as always.

Isn't it neat that when bad things happen we get a chance to learn and improve our boats?
