I have a 2001 Catalina 310 that has an Ocean Marine A/C. I damaged the casing on the raw water pump to the A/C. My mechanic was able to jury rig something and it is working again, but he recommends replacing the pump anyway as it is 9 years old. I really don't want to spend the $$$ on a new pump. So....

Has anyone out there replaced their a/c unit and have a used pump available that is comparable to:
Ocean Marine:
model # Pump 50320
Volts 115
Freq 60
GPH 320 (my mechanic recommends 500 gph)
Amps 1.5
S/N CE-1000-1649

He says Ocean Marine is out of business. Did someone buy them or take over their line?

Thx

what size A/C unit?

The reason I ask is that this answer determine the size pump - as opposed to simply replacing a pump which may be under-sized.

The pump on my 12000 BTU unit is a March. LC3-CP-MD.. A little pricy pump, but it has been fine for 17 years now. It has been disassembled twice in that time for cleaning. My air cond runs on "dehumidify" mode when I am not on the boat so it runs a lot more than a normal AC would.. Look on e-bay and google to find a good deal on one ..

I think it is 12,000, but the pump on there now is 320GPH
You could get away with the smaller size but for the extra $50, you are better served getting the March LC-3CP-MD 115 V pump which should outlast the A/C unit.

You can buy a cheaper pump such as the Cal pumps which used to be included with these units or a smaller pump not designed for continuous service but they are of a much lesser quality and you will likely learn the false economy of trying.
