Anyone have experience replacing a 222 or similar centerboard? Mine has broken off. Any home made designs recommended?
Thanks!

I have a 1986 O'Day 222 and I've had experience in removing mine. I also have a rough sketch of the centerboard. Are you up to building your own centerboard? Rudy Nickerson of D & R Marine has them.
http://www.drmarine.com/ You're going to need to get at the bottom of the keel to remove the two plates that are held on by four bolts, and the two fiberglass wedges that hold the fiber pivot pin for the centerboard. That means raising your boat to expose the keel at least two feet from the ground. Use an impact electric drill for the bolts and a fish fillet knife to get between the wedges to cut the caulking. A 1" putty knife is needed to clean the caulking out so that the pivot pin can drop down with the rest of your broken centerboard. Email me and I'll send you some pics. sailtrinkka1986@verizon.net
